What Causes Pain In The Chest Muscles Upon Coughing And Sneezing?

I was in a car accident 2 weeks ago. My airbag deployed. My chest muscles hurt when I cough and sneeze, like I pulled the muscles or something. I went to the hospital right after my accident and had chest xrays done, they came back normal. Is it normal for my chest to be sore?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Yes, it is normal for your chest muscles to be sore after the accident. But two weeks is a long time and by now at least the intensity of pain must reduce. If not, you must start taking some paracetamol for speedy recovery. X rays must have ruled out any fracture of the ribs, so you must not worry about it. Hot fomentation of chest muscles, rest (No physical exertion) and paracetamol will help you.

Take care,
Regards
