What Causes Pain In The Calf Of Leg?

my lower leg in the calf area or right behind the left knee is hurting. I went to have a doppler and there was no blodd clot or anything present. The doctor said give it sometime or go see a orthopedic specialist. It hurs or feels like a strain when I flex my foot inward not point my toes. It feels great when I have on heels or higher shoes, but if I am barefoot it strains to walk.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
I think it can be a meniscus tear or a ligament injury. I would suggest you to get MRi of the knee joint and calf and see if there is any joint issue. Some time there can be bursitis which can cause such pain . It is collection of fluid in the muscle plane.
Treatment is hot water fomentation and compression bandage. if there is meniscus tear then it needs arthroscopic menisectomy .
I would also suggest you to avoid any cross leg sitting and squatting as it can cause more damage to knee cartilage.
