Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain In The Arms And Heavy Sensation In The Chest?
I have a kind of burning pain down my arm and a heaviness in my chest, attacks that occur as much as 20 times a day. I am tired most of the time. I am a very fit person who has trained for soccer and done a lot of hiking and climbing. The symptoms I am having have escalated in the last year or so. I have just had numerous tests done at the hospital which have ruled out a heart problem--including a stress test. My pulse is low--in the 40-50 range and blood pressure is usually in the 115/78 range. I have more tests coming this Tuesday. Any ideas what the problem could be.
After going through your query I understand your concern.
I would like to tell you that your symptoms are suggestive of Angina that is feeling of chest heaviness/tightness/chest pain radiating to neck or arms/ breathlessness on exertion. It happens because heart is not getting proper oxygen supply because of blocked arteries.
As your stress test is positive for inductively ischemia, you will require an angiography done for the proper evaluation of arteries that will help in line of treatment. Personally consult with a cardiologist and get an evaluation done for proper treatment.
Hopefully this has answered your query.
Kind Regards Dr Navneet Mahajan
