Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve had pain the the abdomen going on for 3-4 days now. It started before that as a pain in the lower back along the spine. Severity has changed over the course of the days. I went to my regular doctor yesterday who thought it might be kidney stones ad had me get a CT scan late yesterday afternoon. Results this morning were negative for kidney stones, appendix or anything else. Referral to a GI doctor late today but office was already closed. Pain is persisting but is less with pain meds. Stomach area is tight even after a small meal of salad and grilled chicken. What should I do?
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. No need to worry for major abdominal pathology as your CT scan is normal. Your abdominal pain is mostly due to acute gastritis. So take pantoprazole tablet on empty stomach twice daily. Avoid hot and spicy food. Avoid junk food. Your back pain is mostly due to musculoskeletal pain. So avoid movements causing pain. Avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise. Avoid sudden jerky movements of back. Apply warm water pad on affected. Take simple painkiller like paracetamol. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
