What Causes Pain In Stomach And Sternum After Drinking?

Hello. Last week I drank heavily and ended up vomiting several times. That was over a week ago, and I m still experiencing pain in my stomach and sternum. After I eat, the pain is particularly present. It s a dull pain, not acute. I ve also felt lightheaded in the week since. I ve anticipated it going away but it hasn t. Any thoughts?

Quite a lot of possiblities. I cannot say in your particular case and...
alcohol is a solvent and irritates the lining of the stomach and esophagus. it stimulates acid secretion and lowers the tone of the top of the stomach to allow more reflux. Furthermore vomiting can cause rips in the lining of stomach or esophagus or diaphram. They are usually not serious but can be.
Cannot say if there was significant bleeding. Black or red stools would be an indicator.
