What Causes Pain In Penis Of A Toddler?

I have a 5 year old child complaining of penis pain. I have been to the doctors three times now and they have told me its a habit. School have mentioned this to me quite a number of times. Today they approached me telling me my son had been in discomfort all day and has been touching his penis much more than ususal. My son has had a urine test three times and these have been fine. His penis and everything around it looks absolutely normal and there is no redness. I m at my wits end could this be a serious condition? or is there anything that could be living on the penis for example thrush that could be causing this? Please help

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Could he have put something into his urethra(this is the tube-like structure that takes urine from the bladder to the tip of the penis)?
When urethral obstruction is a possibility, it is a good idea to observe your child's urine stream.
Thrush would be cheesy white on his penis and readily apparent.
Has he been seen by a pediatric urologist?
I hope I have been able to give you some help. Please return if you have additional questions.
