What Causes Pain In Mastoid Bone Post An Injury?

My son fell on the playground and hit his mastoid bone on a metal balance beam bar. He cried at first but not for very long. He was taken to the school nurse, and they applied ice. He says it doesn t hurt when he turns his head, but it does hurt to the touch and looks bruised. Should I be worried?

Thank for posting on HCM.
Don't worry about it. He only injured the software. If there are any broken bones or worse, he would have bled in the ear or nose discharge. you get ice on his pain area. he'll get better in several days.
I'll be happy if you ask anything further! Thank you!
