Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain In Lower Left Leg Despite Of Reflexology Therapy?
two days ago started having sharp pain in the lower front part of my left leg -- had a massage the previous day -- last night had session of reflexogy to try and relieve the pain but still there today -- my form of exercise is to walk every day for about an hour around surrounding neighborhoods -- wear good supportive shoes
I can understand your concern. It seems that incorrect pressure in the area concerned during massage session has caused muscle spasm.
You can take muscle relaxant medicines like Dan-MR or Hifenac-MR (Paracetamol 325 mg + Diclofenac Sodium 50 mg + Chlorzoxazone 250 mg) twice a day for three days. You can do heat compressions in the area with hot water bag or electric belt. Applying Diclofenac Gel (Volini) locally will help, too. Do not go for long walk for 3 days and give rest to the area.
If pain does not subside in 3 days, then you might have to visit a physician for physical examination of the area and further investigations.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
