What Causes Pain In Knee When I Kneel Down?

Both of my knees hurt when I kneel. I have not noticed any swelling. I have used topical anti-inflammitory cream that does not seem to releve any of the pain. I had an MRI on one knee and was told I had a bruised knee cap - that was months before the other knee began to hurt. I completed 15 sessions of physical therapy for the knee cap bruise. I have also not exercised for a month straight. There has been no improvement. I lost 30 pounds over a 6 month period and was exercising rigorously after having been sedimentary for all of my life before the left knee began to hurt. Is there a brace I can get to help alleviate the pain? What could be the cause.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms are suggestive of local joint inflammation. There are several types of braces, which can help divide the body weight between the thigh and calf, without putting too pressure on the joint. I would also recommend discussing with the orthopedist on the possibility of steroid injections into the joint.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
