Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 51 year old female. I am 225 lbs. and 5'5". I recently went to the dentist because of pain in my lower jaw. I thought it was a tooth ache. she checked me and show no sign of cavities or anything at all wrong with my gums. Then about a week later I am still having jaw pain and now the last 3 days I have has a rapid heart beat on and off. Shortness of breath and dizzy. I have a history of heart palpatations and take propranolol, and slight blood pressure. What do you suggest I do? I do have anxiety and thought maybe I was having a panic attack. I have never had one of those so not sure what that would be like.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of shortness of breath, dizziness, anxiety and panic attack along with jaw pain which are not due to dental related cause so you should be more concerned about it and deal this situation seriously . Sometimes clenching of teeth at night also give such symptoms in the morning but as you define you have history of heart palpitations so you should go for CTA test and in the mean while consult good cardiologist and discuss the whole situation. Go for ECG for better diagnosis of your symptoms. Nerve impingement could also be the cause of your symptoms. Stay calm , no need to panic and do not exert your body . Drink plenty of water and have diet rich in multivitamins.
