Hello,

You are suffering from pain in the instep of right foot. The pain radiates to the left side of the foot. It hurts on walking as well as when sitting. The most common causes related to pain in the instep are tendonitis and pain due to bone deformity, such as cavus foot and flat foot. If it is due to bony deformity proper footwear should be used. In case of inflammatory and irritation due to effect on tendons or ligament (anti inflammatory medicines) help to get relief.

In case of tendonitis, rest to the feet, anti inflammatory medications, comfortable footwear will give relief to pain and inflammation. Sometimes, pain can be due to neurological problems or nerve entrapment, it is treated with Nervup OD and vitamin B6, B12 or food rich in vitamin B6, B12, folic acid, etc. Get clinically examined by an orthopedist, get X-ray done to detect any fracture. You will be treated accordingly. If overweight, lose weight.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
