What Causes Pain In Hamstring While Doing Splits?

About a month ago I was over stretching my splits on the bed and I was almost flat so I pushed my self down all the way. I heard something in my leg and it really hurt. I struggled to come up and now, a month later I can t do the splits anymore and it really hurts in the hamstring/groin area whenever I do anything spilt related. Do you know what it is? And will it ever heal?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you got injury by overstretching your hamstrings. You got stretching injury of muscles and tendons. Treatment of it is rest and analgesics (diclofenac ). Muscle relaxant such as thiocolchicoside also give relief. Vitamin B-complex and Vitamin C supplementation can used to promote healing. It is likely to heal in 6 weeks time. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care.
