What Causes Pain In Groin And Knee Inspite Of Amitriptyline Intake?

I am 69 years old and very active. I have had groin and knee pain on and off for 2 years. Have had physio And I do exercises. Have now been put on amitriptyline 10mg which I think may be helping a bit. Pain can be worse at night when the knee pain comes in waves (pain then no pain and so on). Could calcium deficiency have anything to do with this. I have taken alendronic acid for years but doctor has now stopped this. I take calceos daily.
