What Causes Pain In Feet And Skin Sensitivity?

I periodically get deep pain in the bones of my feet, knee, or hips along with severe skin sensitivity. There is nothing on my skin but it feels like a severe sunburn. Sometimes I only have skin pain. It only happens in one place at a time. It lasts for a day or two. Sometimes the pain in the side of the knee or toes feels stiff or tight and causes me to limp. It s worse if I have been inactive then try to walk or get up from sitting. I have genital herpes. Could this be related somehow?

Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

Your symptoms could be related to different possible causes like peripheral neuropathy or chronic inflammation.
For this reason, I would recommend consulting with your GP and performing some tests:
- a nerve conduction study to exclude polineuropathy
- complete blood count, PCR, ESR for inflammation.
Further tests may be needed to establish the right diagnosis and treatment options.
Hope to have been helpful!
Best wishes, Dr. Aida
