What Causes Pain In Center Of Chest When Eating And Vomiting Sensation?

When I eat, I get an ache in the center of my chest. I stop eating and wait and it goes away. It almost like feeling the food going down. I never had this before until about 2 months ago. I also have a cough that can become so severe that I gag and feel as though I am going to vomit. Could the two be related?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of getting ache in center of chest on eating, feels the food while going down, since 2 months, severe cough causing gagging and feeling of vomiting. Wants to know whether both the things be connected...
As per the history you have provided, both the things can be correlated well.
It seems that you are suffering from GERD and also have severe esophagitis.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Upper GI Endoscopy.
PPI like Omeprazole.
Antacid every three hours.
Domperidone at 8 hourly interval, you need a prescription for the same.
Liquid bland diet.
Control of stress and anxiety along with avoidance of the fried and chilly food.
I find this answer helpful
