What Causes Pain In Arm And Hand Post Gym Class?

My 14 year old son felt a pain in his left arm and his left hand went numb in gym class after running for a long time. He is a little asthmatic, but said he did not use his inhaler. He is not overweight, but not an athlete either. Should we be concerned?

As long as the sensation of numbness has resolved then there is no reason to be concerned. If the numbness or pain persist then seek advice from a local physician. Also check to see if a motion can be performed to replicate the pain, this could indicate an area that the nerve is susceptible to pinching.
