What Causes Pain During Urination During Menstruation?

I woke up Thursday morning and had started my period and also was experiencing extreme pain when I peed. I started taking AZO, but it could only do so much. It s Sunday and I went to the doctor and was told I have a UTI-Turned-Bladder Infection. She prescribed antibiotic and sent me home. Since being home, my lymph nodes in my groin area have become swollen and tender, and I noticed one ulcer near the opening of my vagina. I m freaking out, because I ve never been tested for any type of STD and I know those are symptoms, but I was wondering if it could be caused from my body fighting off the infection, or possibly turning into a kidney infection? Please let me know what you think, my anxiety is keeping me awake.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The lymph nodes you are experiencing together with your symptoms are clearly signed of urinary tract infection.

You should immediately take the antibiotics treatment given by your doctor. Also, take anti-inflammatory drugs such as Advil or Acetaminophen for pain and inflammation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
