What Causes Pain Below The Lower Rib Cage?

I have a little pain , some times feels like shooting pain depending on how I move. Have be very careful to roll out of bed to my right. ( The General feeling )is like a have strained muscles only in the area where we are talking of. However I can not move aggressively or sharp Pains (like tiny knifes) will ensue. LOCATION OF PAIN / Pain on my right side below my lower rib cage and around or Just above pelvic region. Generally this shooting pain is about 2 inches from my center body to almost my side. Can This be caused for wearing a catheter for 30 days? I may have swollen bladder? I do Have BPH. I HOPE NOT APPEDICTS! Thanks
