Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have pain behind my right knee which is made worse by walking, especially downhill. I have pain at night that keeps me awake, and if I sleep on my back and bend the right leg outward (not upward) at the knee it seems to help with the pain. 3 years ago I had a meniscus tear in this same knee for which I let heal on it s own (no surgery). When I walk, I have pain also in my right hip (2 years ago I was diagnosed with a tear in my gluteus medias (sp?) which my doctor performed PRP which healed the tear. This is probably all related. My personal trainer and massage therapist thinks it might be the hamstring -- I have had this pain on and off for 1 year. Could it be hamstring?
HI Well come to HCM Thank for asking to HCM, knee is very fragile joint and meniscus is even more delicate that damages very easily if the surgery was not done then it may not healed on its own but condition may become stable, seldom it causes the pain, here in your case it may not be the cause of pain but it seems to be the arthritis condition of knee, and it may not be non other than this, and in my opinion it has to be managed accordingly hope this information helps.
