What Causes Pain Around An Drained Infected Sebaceous Cyst?

I had an infected sebaceous cyst drained at the doctor 8 days ago. There s still and little pain inside and a little pus on bandages twice a day with the smell being less noticeable. I wasn t given any antibiotics so i m not sure if I should wait for the infection to go away before I go in to have to completely removed.

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
After draining an infected sebaceous cyst, it is good take a course of antibiotics for rapid healing since this may prevent proliferation of the bacteria in cause and favor rapid healing.I will suggest you press out the pus frequently or do regular dressing, take a penicillin group of antibiotic like cloxacillin and an anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen.
Hope this will help
Best regards
