What Causes Pain And Tight Sensation In The Upper Arms?

I have been having a tightness , like a dull pain in my upper arms when I m running or walking briskly on the teadmill. It immediately subsides when I stop. I have been working out for years (walking, running riding and light weights) and these symptoms started several months ago (only sometimes when on the treadmill and more recently all the time when on the treadmill).

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think the tightness in upper arms is due to muscular problems.

However, if I was your caring doctor would highly recommend to consult further with a cardiologist and run a complete cardiac checkup (EKG, echocardiogram, stress test).

Doppler ultrasound of the blood vessels, especially of aorta, is also highly recommended.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini,
