What Causes Pain And Tenderness In Right Upper Abdomen?
iI have had tenderness to touch and pain upon movement in my right upper abdomen just below my waist for three days, initially it was mild but since last night the pain and tenderness has worsened so that I winch whenever I move. I have no other symptoms such as nausea etc and am not constipated. As I have no other symptoms and a normal appetite could it just me muscle strain . However I have done no exercise prior to my symptoms and cannot recall moving awkwardly to have caused muscle strain. Do I need to see my GP, I am reluctant to waste their time for something that seems trivial
Pain and tenderness in the right upper abdomen may be related to superficial causes like muscle strain or can be due to deep visceral problems. In case of pain not subsiding with pain killers, I would suggest you to take an ultrasound abdomen to rule out any visceral inflammation and diseases.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
