What Causes Pain And Swelling In The Joints?

I have high sed rate and mpv, and also positive ana and rnp. when I typed in lab test that were high or positive , it came up as Lupus. My doctor thought I had some kind of Autoimmune disease. She was looking for RA because of my painful and swollen joints. RA factor was fine.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As per my clinical experience, the current presentation suggests the inflammatory response of joint spaces through actions of granulocytes and macrophages giving pain and swelling.

Though usually autoimmune-mediated, secondary causes must be elicited as altered uric acid, calcium level or else.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
General & Family Physician
