What Causes Pain And Stiffness On The Right Thumb?

i was diagnosed with stenosing tenosynovitis on my right thumb. My cousin had the same kind of pain and stiffness in her right thumb! She was given ketoprofin and it went away. I was told by my doctor that a cortizone shot usually cures it. My pharmacy didn t have ketoprofin so I was given Diclofenac sodium topical gel. Should I just have the shot? Do you think the cream will help this condition?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
Both Ketoprofin and Diclofenac are of the same family of drugs. You can go for it if it is the available one. You can start using it and if you didn't improve on it you can use the cortisone.
