What Causes Pain And Spasms In The Throat?

I am having issues with a dry tickle in my throat, spasms in my throat when eating, slightly painful feeling of a lump in my throat when swallowing that comes and goes, sudden swelling of my neck (Thyroid Nodule). These symptoms come with onset for about 2 weeks then go away. The spasms and dry tickle have been around for several months now and don t go away. Is this normal for patients with a Thyroid Nodule?

Hi,

No, these sudden symptoms are not normal. You need to consult a doctor about this. The possibility of angioedema is more likely. It is mostly due to allergy. So better to consult a doctor and get done tests for allergies. You may take montelukast (anti-allergic) and fexofenadine (antihistamine) to relieve these symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
