What Causes Pain And Redness In The Eye?

I just notice that my right eye is red (white part is red). It wasn t like that when I left for dinner at 5 pm. I came back around 830 and went to wash my face and that s when i noticed it. I have a slightly aching (pain ) but but no puss or discharge. What is causing that? what should I do? is it dangerous and contagious? I am on a business trip and I will be flying back home on Friday.

If its just redness and a mild pain, nothing to worry, it would be some sort of allergy, it will settle down by itself.

Just keep a watch if you are developing any discharge, any diminution or blurring of vision, severe headache or so, if so get a consultation at the earliest.
