What Causes Pain And Rashes In Genital Area?
Ok, I've been in a relationship with someone now for about 7 months. There have been times after we've been intimate that my partner has complained about pain and rash in his genital area. He has had all the testing done for STD's-all negative. I had my yearly test done-pap etc a few months ago. I asked for std testing as well, telling them what my partner is experiencing. They all came back negative. With the exception that I've been exposed at some point to the herpes (cold sore). Although I've never been with anyone with cold sores (knowingly), is this something that I could have been exposed to unknowingly and transferred sexually to someone?

I empathise with your plight. Herpes is a tricky disease to aquire especially genital Herpes. Before jumping to conclusions, get yourself tested for Herpes Simplex Type1 & Type 2 IgG & igM done as a blood test separately. Yes it is something that can be transferred sexually even with oral sex & kissing, hugging etc & is fairly easy to acquire unwittingly as well. It may very well be some sort of an allergic phenomenon that your partner is exhibiting. Do you use protection & if so, the condom material or gel/lubricant etc may all be implicated.
