What Causes Pain And Lump Around Knee Post Screw Removal In Knees?
I had 2 screw removed from my knee two weeks ago today. The first week and a half was painless and I barely noticed it. The last 3-4 days there has been a new pain and a large lump (size of a grape) has formed. Its not warm, red or swollen otherwise. Does this sound like anything to worry about. Thank you
Hi Welcome to healhcaremagic After going through your query I concluded that you had 2screws removed from knee. Two weeks after you developed a pea sized lump which is painful. This may be due to some suture material reaction. No need to worry. It will settle after few days of antibiotics and analgesic such as ibuprofen. If it does not resolve in two weeks more then it may require exploration of operation site for suture material. You can discuss with your Doctor about it. Hope I have answered your query. If you have any clarification then please don't hesitate to write to us. I will be happy to help you. Wishing you a good health. Take care.
