What Causes Pain And Itching On The Feet After An Injury?

I dropped a heavy object on my foot eight days ago. Went to ER. X-ray showed chil. But unsure if it is an old or new chip. Big Motrin tablet calmed the pain.Improvement going along well.Fifth day I wore shoes on the foot. It felt okay. Walked and drove. That night there was lots of itching. I rubbed the foot. Next day the foot had added red to the bruise. It had been painful ever since Wednesday. Must use crutch now and hobble a lot.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

The redness with pain indicates possible cellulitis at the injury site.

Primary relief with ice pack application and definite care with your consultant in terms of antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
General Surgeon
