What Causes Pain And Inflammation After Insertion Of Stent In The Ankle?

My podiatrist placed a stent in my left ankle a month ago because i have very flat feet. I had inflammation and alot of pain. Its been over a month and I still can t walk properly and it s still very stiff. I went back to the podiatrist and they did an xray and he told me that the stent he put in my ankle turned out to be too big for my ankle and it caused my joint in my foot to lock up. He said he needs to go back in and put a smaller stent in.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
it can be due to the inflammation caused by insertion of stent in the ankle, leading to tenosynovitis and hence pain. you should give rest to your ankle and take NSAIDS and hot fomentation and of course you need to consult your podiatrist again.
