What Causes Pain And Discoloration In The Toe?

I have a toenail that is lifting up because of tissue that is growing under it. I had noticed some thickening over the years but just scrapped and it seemed fine. However, last week I started getting pains in my toe which I thought was in-toenail. So I went to the nail shop where the lady gets the in-grown nail out and the pain went away, but when she cut my nail down there is a dark spot and the tissue under the nail is dark. Now--3 days later--I having a few pains in the toe. Is this fungus?

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your nail issue.

As per your history and symptoms it seems to me either hematoma or the fungal infection

As you said it has some pain associated, if it also show some sort of itching or you have chronic history of keeping your feet in touch with water it can be the fungal infection.

To get a proper diagnosis done and have a proper antifungal medication. You need to consult a skin expert.

Hope my answer will help you and you can write us back if you need any further sort of assistance required.

Regards
Dr Muzaffer Hussain Parray.
