I have a hx of L costochondritis from coughing. Today I was reaching and I heard popping in my L lower lateral rib cage and felt grinding/grating over 3lower ribs. It hurts to move, cough or take a deep breath. I am at the end of a RADS flare up & coughing is a problem.

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, possibility of worsening costochondritis is more likely.
So follow these steps for better symptomatic relief.
1. Avoid movements causing pain.
2. Apply warm water pad on affected areas of chest.
3. Take painkiller and anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen or acetaminophen.
4. Wear chest belt to immobilize the painful area of chest.
5. Start calcium and vitamin d 3 supplements as these can fasten healing.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
