What Causes Pain After A Lumpectomy?

I had a lumpectomy 5 years ago. Lately I have felt sharp pains intermittently. I also acquired a collection of fluid in the breast over time, and the fluid in the area is mostly solid. My last mammogram was 10/16. Should I be concern because I am very concerned.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern.

From your medical history, I see that you are suffering of breast cyst. Sometimes, they get infected and antibiotics are required together with anti-inflammatory meds.

Although your last mammogram was 10/16, I still recommend to consult further with oncologist to evaluate the actual changes in your breast. You need also to set a follow up strategy with oncologist too.

No need to get concerned, just consult with oncologist and take the appropriate prescription meds.

Wish fast recovery.
