What Causes Pain Above Tailbone?

I am 49 years old. I have pain on the left side of my back above my tailbone, whatever those other two bones are above your tailbone, the left side feels bruised or muscle hurts etc but not going away. They feel more bruised or cramped. I was in a car accident and hit a car straight on 12/12/13. 1 week later the condition started. Prior to the accident my left hand and foot goes numb and can be painful. more so when I sleep. Last night my chest and knee also hurt during the night. Does this make any sense?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Pain in tail bone can be cause by accident. Some time it can be due to minor fracture agnd some time only bone get bend. I would advice you to avoid sitting on hard surface. Also do not sit for long hours. When you are taking bath sit in a tub with hot water. Also take analgesic like diclofenec. As far as back pain is concerned I would advice you to avoid bending forward and lifting heavy weight.
