My son, age 30 now, has for years gotten a red rash of sorts everytime he gets sick or has anything that weakens his system. I say rash or sorts, because it looks and feels more like a sunburn. This started years ago, when he had a cold or something and it was only on his stomach then. After that everytime he gets sick or anything, it shows back up and covers more area each time. Now it covers almost the whole trunk and is spreading down his arms and legs and up his neck some. It is not bumpy or spotting, just red like a bad sunburn. It is warm to touch and sometimes peals like a sunburn would. He gets it with everything from a cold to a kidney stone and does not always have a fever. It doesn t matter if he took meds or not, that doesn t seem to be a factor, he still gets the rash. It last a couple of days then start to fade. One doctor who did look at it, couldn t help with any answers, just said he should see a dermatologist, but the rash is gone by the time any appts could be made, and with nothing for the doctor to see.... what would be the point. He has the rash again, which ironically seems to have come on after a bad sunburn, but you can still see the difference in the sunburn and the rash. Naturally, this mystery can be somewhat concerning since we don t know what it is, and it is worse every time he gets it. Can you help us get any answers. Thanks.
