What Causes Outbreak Of Itchy Rashes All Over The Body?

Hi, I have developed a "rash" in various parts of my body. They look like pimples, sometimes they have a tiny white dot but they are usually just red/raised. They are extremely itchy, seem to form in clusters & if I scratch them they hurt. I've had them for a few months, but they don't appear to be contagious, my ex boyfriend never developed them despite coming in physical contact with me. For temporary relief of the itching I use hydrocortisone & Benadryl both in cream forms. Some of them seem to eventually dry & turn into brown flat spots. In some areas of my skin they look very different, lager, flatter & darker (almost like with a purple shade). If I could send you some pictures it would be great. Thank you!

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain rashes over the body along with formation of clusters of the bumps can be due to causes like allergic reaction leading to contact dermatitis and can be due to a number of causes like any skin cosmetics, detergants, side effects of medicines, latex, leather, poison ivy etc..
It can also be due to severe hair follicle infection or folliculitis caused by bacterial infection..
It can also be due to Mite Infestation causing Scabies..
I would suggest you to consult an Allergist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like blood tests can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
In case of allergic reaction you can be advised Injection of steroids followed by oral anti allergics and topical application of steroid ointment..
You can also be advised to do cool compresses and apply Calamine Lotion..
In case of Folliculitis Antibiotics and Steroids can be applied.
In case of Scabies Premethrin ointment and Ivermectin oral can be advised..
Anti allergics can help to reduce itching.

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
