What Causes Orange Coloured Nasal Drainage Post Suffering A Concussion?

I hit the back of my head pretty hard, and then had a very faint orange colored fluid run out of my nose, quickly as if it was a nose bleed, but it wasn t blood. It was clear with a hint of orange. It stopped after about five minutes. The concussive like symptoms are still present though. Any idea what this fluid could have been?

Hi,

Without an exam, I can only give general information. Mostly it is from very slight amounts of blood in the fluid. The worst case is if there were a skull fracture leaking spinal fluid but that is unlikely. Sometimes irritation causes seepage out of blood vessels and there can be slight blood tinging with this also.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
