What Causes Oozing Of Yellowish Liquid From An Old Scar On Right Leg?
Hi, I have a scar on my right leg from an injury 12 years ago. Recently, it began itching, and weeping yellow serous fluid. I cleaned the wound with Povodine Iodine and that has irritated the skin surrounding my scar. Since stopping the Iodine, the redness and irritation has reduced a lot. What caused my scar to begin weeping in the first place and what should I do now? It has been approximately 4 weeks total and almost 1 week since stopping the Iodine.
Hi, It seems that on old scar there might be having some local skin infection like dermatitis or rare chance of having infection on the leg bone giving rise osteomyelitis producing non healing wound. Go for x-ray leg to rule out osteomyelitis. Consult orthopedic surgeon and get examined. Meanwhile clean local part with plane water and apply triple action cream. Ok and take care.
