What Causes Odor From Feet While Suffering From A Toe Ulcer?

I am diabetic and has had a problem with a toe ulcer for about 4 years. Now that wound is closed and there appears no sign of infections, however I have noticed a foot odor for the past cuoplele of weeks. should I be worried that the odor is related to the toe wound?

Hello,

As you explain the situation it is normal that in diabetic patients with an active wound to have a bad odor due to a gangrenous wound. If you say that it is closed to know better to see by your doctor because this is a sign of continues infection and in diabetics, there is no pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jnikolla, Pulmonologist
