What Causes Occult Blood And Mucus In The Stools Of A 4 Month Old?

Hi my 4 month old baby had severe stomach pain 3 days back. And Dr advised to give colicaid for 3 days to subside the pain. And also advised to get his stool test done. Report has shown mucus and occult blood in his stool sample. Dr. Has advised to change my eating habits and continue breastfeeding my child. Is there something of a bigger concern as occult blood found in stool can be a start to many diseases.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
According to me I don't think it is ok to have occult blood in stools. This can cause anaemia n the kid. Do not panic, probably you should get a blood culture done and a blood test as well. Mothers food does not generally affect the baby's stools.
Kindly get back to your doctor if the same continues.
On very rare occasions it can be normal.
Take care
