Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. You have problem of racing heart and palpitations since 2007 and are taking drug Seloken XL 50 (Metoprolol) for that. Your all cardiac tests came normal including ECG, TMT and holter. The palpitations are occurring occasionally and this points more towards some neurotic cause like anxiety rather than cardiac cause. As your symptoms are persistent and not relieving with medicines I would advise you to consult a psychiatrist for proper help. For episodes of anxiety medicines like low dose benzodiazepines can help. Etizolam or Clonazepam in low dose when taken on SOS basis help to control the anxiety. Apart from this conventional anti anxiety drugs like SSRIs can prove useful for non remitting symptoms. Visit a psychiatrist for prescription of these drugs.

Thanks, Hope this helps you. Take care
