What Causes Numbness On The Thumb After An Angioplasty?

I had a angioplasty done yesterday through my artery in my right wrist. Just wondering if my thumb should still be numb? Also I have been getting ache up my arm to my shoulder. I have been taken neurofen then laying down it subsides. Twice I have experienced severe aches since I have been home. When this happens it makes me fell sick and its so sore I dont know what to do with my arm. Is this normal?

for initial 24 - 48 hrs , persistence beyond that period needs
