What Causes Nose Bleeding?

I have had two bouts of nose bleeds in the past year. The most recent was last week Thursday (July 27 and Sat. July 29). The first time was last year 2016 around September. Since this is unusual for me (age 72), I am trying to investigate where the problem lies. I had cataract surgery on both years in January 2016. As far as I know, I do not have high blood pressure or diabetes or noticeable allergies.....so I wondered if the problem so stem from my eye surgeries.

Hello,
Welcom to Healthcaremagic.com.
I had gone through your question I can understand your concern. At your age it can be because of blood pressure issues, you need to get your blood pressure evaluation done at least twice in next week to rule out the case.

As it seems to me the nose bleeding may be because of traumatic injury related, harshly blowing nose in morning, inserting fingers are most important causes, you must also single out the one you think.
Patients of your age may suffer with nose bleeding because dry nasal mucus membrane, if you feel dry nose, use liquid parafene to avoid nasal dryness.

Hope my answer will help you.
