Good Evening: When I swallow, there is a clunking noise in my throat, especially if my head is tilted downward. What is causing this and it is serious? I have been to a doctor and found out I have acid reflex and a stricture in my esophagus. Could these be related? Thank you
hi whenever we drink water there is always a inherant sound made by the swallowing action of the oesopahgus which is normal. but as you said you went to a doctor who said that you have acid reflux and oesophagus stricture, then this diagnosis should be supported with xray or oesophagoscopy,if this is done then this diagnosis is fine and yes this can cause the symptoms you are experiencing. still i would suggest you to visit a gastroenterologist and seek proper help. regards
