What Causes Night Sweats, Back Pain And Fever?

21 year old with elevated monocytes and fever spiking in night to 102/103 then around 101 waking up. It goes down during day. She has night sweats , leg pain and upper back pain. Had felt exhausted and had fever several days at least. Mild spotted rash upper chest and shoulder area. History includes two episodes of mono in past 5 years confirmed by labs. This seems diffrent from mono as fever is higher and no sore throat. Other cbc cmp labs in normal limits. Checked for flu and negative no other test performed.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Her symptoms indicate possible shingles. However, I need to have a look at the rash on her upper body.

Although no flu detected, there are other strains of virus causing the same symptoms.

Urine analysis should be run to rule out kidney infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
