What Causes Neck Pain In A Child?

My four year old daughter is complaining of her neck hurting. It is on her right side and there is tightness is a little area(hard). She turns her upper body when you want her to look at something on her right side. She does not have fever and seems to be feeling good. Could this be a crick?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello. I just read through your question.
Sounds like she developed a bit of muscle tightness on the right side. Most likely reason for this is perhaps she spent a long time turned in that position (maybe while sleeping). It is very common and nothing to worry about. Warm compresses will slowly loosen the muscle, will decrease her pain, and will help her regain her range of motion.
