What Causes Neck Lymph Node Pain And A Hole In The Mouth?

The lymph node on the right side of my neck is in a lot of pain. Vicoden and other pain medicines haven't worked. I also noticed a hole in the back of my mouth where a wisdom tooth seems to be coming in. I think it may be infected. Should I see a doctor or go to the dentist?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

As per your complain swollen lymph nodes along with a hole in the back of the mouth might be related..
The hole seems to be the area from where your wisdom tooth is emerging and there is a possibility that the gum flap over it is getting inflamed due to infection as there might be food accumulation in the hole space causing bacterial proliferation and the swollen and painful lymph nodes are also due to it..
You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and if the gum flap is inflamed an x ray of the erupting wisdom tooth should be done to rule out whether it is impacted or not..
In case if it is impacted extraction of the tooth can resolve the problem..
In case if it is not impacted removal of gum flap by a small surgical procedure can help..
As of now you can take a short course of antibiotics like Augmentin and painkillers like Ibuprofen or Tramadol..
Do warm saline gargles..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
