What Causes Nausea, Fatigue And Swelling In Groin After Inserting Copper IUD?

Hi, I ve got the copper iud a couple of months ago and wondering whether it is giving me problems now. My groin glands are swollen, my urine smells strong, I ve been getting mild nausea and lower back pain and am tired all the time. My partner thought he could feel the end of the iud but I can t feel it now. I m worried it s slipped or is causing me to feel ill, what do you think?

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Copper IUD insertion in the first few months can cause symptoms which you are experiencing such as nausea, urinary symptoms and low back pain. However, with passage of time, it should subside.
However, since you are unable to feel the end of the device and suspecting it to be in position, it would be better to get a pelvic examination done by visiting a Gynaecologist and ultrasound abdominal scan to know its status.
In case these symptoms persists or worsens, you can get the device removed and go in for other modes of contraception, which could suit you.
