What Causes Nausea, Diarrhea And Sinus Infection?

My wife since Monday has had intense migraines, nausea, intense coughing, and diarrhea. At first she and I thought it was a sinus infection but the medicine she got from the doctor doesn t seem to be working. She just showed me her bloated stomach and she hasn t eaten very much at all the past few days

Thanks for your query.
Noted the history about your wife and understood the concerns.
Diarrhea along with nausea, headache and intense coughing can be due to the following reasons.
Two things can coexist.
Gastroenteritis causing diarrhea and nausea.
THe infection causing septicemia hence the headache and other symptoms. Cough can coexist.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Get another opinion of the same Doctor or another Doctor so that a proper clinical evaluation and investigations can be done to get an appropriate diagnosis and management.
You may need to change over to another antibiotic that works better for an intestinal infection.
Take cough syrup for the intense coughing.
Steam inhalation also helps.
PPI like Omeprazole, Domperidone and symptomatic treatment.
Supportive treatment in the form of plenty of oral fluids, electrolyte solution to avoid dehydration and have proper electrolyte balance.
