What Causes Nausea , Chest Discomfort And Neck Pain?

Hello. Yesterday, around 3pm, my 14 yr old daughter suddenly experienced extreme pain in her neck, throat felt constricted, nausea, intermittent upper left chest discomfort, . Immediately prior to the pain she was playing video games. She also spends a great deal of time IM ing on her cell phone. Emergency rm visit (chest & cervical xrays, cbc differentials, basic metabolic panel) revealed nothing except strain. ER Dr recommended inflammatory pain killer & muscle relaxer and warm damp cloth to neck. Daughter is a terrible pill taker and has much difficulty with it. This morning, before taking any meds, the pain seemed to have subsided some. Another extreme episode of the symptoms this afternoon. Now this evening, symptoms subsided again.

Hi. I can understand your concern.
Possibility of musculoskeletal pain is more.
She should improve with combination of painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs.
Also apply warm water pad on affected areas.
Avoid movements causing pain.
Don't worry, she will be alright in 1-2 weeks.
Hope I have solved your query.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
